Committed to student success

Georgia Perimeter College (GPC) faculty and staff take pride in their commitment to student success. One of the many resources they provide students is free access to more than 100 tutors certified by the College Reading & Learning Association (CRLA).

“In addition to earning CRLA certification, our tutors take an active role in continuing education,” says Nancy McDaniel, a writing instructor and member of GPC’s Learning & Tutoring Center (LTC) staff. “They not only attend conferences with organizations such as the Georgia Tutoring Association and National College Learning Center Association, but they also give presentations at these conferences, and LTC coordinators often serve as board members.”

The Learning & Tutoring Center’s welcoming environment and free tutorial services support the college curriculum and respond to diverse learning styles. One-to-one tutoring or small group sessions with experienced tutors are available on a drop-in basis.  The LTCs also offer Internet access, computer-assisted instruction for skill building and test preparation, and a variety of workshops.

The LTC mission is to enable Georgia Perimeter College’s diverse population of students to achieve their educational, personal and career goals through tutoring and technology-based instruction, empowering them to become successful, independent, lifelong learners.
