Georgia marks its 63rd Veterans Day Proclamation Ceremony

On Monday, November 6, Governor Nathan Deal signed the Annual Veterans Day Proclamation, recognizing November 11, 2017 as Veterans Day in Georgia to commemorate its 63rd anniversary.

Commissioner Mike Roby of Georgia Department of Veterans Service and the State Veterans Service Board, hosted the Proclamation Signing Ceremony in the North Wing of the State Capitol Building. The event was open to the public, including Veterans, dependents, family and friends.

The Proclamation Signing Ceremony is a part of a long-standing annual tradition that formally recognizes November 11th as Veterans Day in Georgia. The proclamation serves to pay homage to the Veterans and formally recognize their contributions to protecting their country.
