The Georgia Department of Corrections, in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Defense, will host several law enforcement agencies and companies for a military personnel job fair on April 17 at 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the National Guard Armory in Glennville.

The participating agencies (GDC, Department of Juvenile Justice, Department of Public Safety, Department of Natural Resources, and State Board of Pardons and Paroles) and companies (GEO Group and Corrections Corporation of America) have approximately 800 jobs available for military personnel returning from duty.

The event is free and is open to U.S. Veterans who register online at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/MilitaryJobFair.

“The Department was honored with hosting the first law enforcement military job fair with DJJ, GSP, DNR, PAP and GBI at our offices at State Offices South at Tift College,” said Commissioner Brian Owens.  “It was such a success that we wanted to bring it to other areas around the state.”

In September 2012, the Department hosted a similar job fair at our offices and had more than 220 veterans registered for the event.

The GDC has one of the largest prison systems in the U.S. and is responsible for supervising nearly 60,000 state prisoners and more than 160,000 probationers. It is the largest law enforcement agency in the state with approximately 12,000 employees.
