Astronomy
Friday, Nov 3, 2017 5 PM to 7 PM
Fort McAllister State Park – Richmond Hill, GA
Let our rangers be your guides to the galaxy as we spend the evening gazing at the lunar landscape. We’ll be peering through our telescopes while learning about the real majesty of our galaxy. Involves a short half-mile hike. Visitors will meet our rangers at the front office before taking a trip to one of our many scenic spots. $2 plus $5 parking. 912-727-2339.

Fall Fun: Hayrides and More
Saturdays 12 PM – 6 PM – Nov 4, 2017
Cloudland Canyon State Park – Rising Fawn, GA
The whole family will enjoy a tractor-drawn hayride through the beautiful fall foliage. Hayride admission includes family fun activities such as games, temporary tattoos, bubbles, and coloring. Snacks and drinks available for purchase. Meet at the disc golf course parking lot. Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park event. $3 – $6 $5 parking. 706-657-4050.

Farm Animal Fun Day
Saturday, Nov 4, 2017 11 AM to 3 PM
Hardman Farm Historic Site – Sautee Nacoochee, GA
Over the years, Hardman Farm has been the home to several species of livestock. Come visit and pet some furry friends here on the Farm as we continue our journey to “bring the farm to life” and keep the American agricultural experience alive. Animal encounters are free with site admission. Also includes a tour of the Big House and Farm. 706-878-1077.

Dinner in 1793
Friday, Nov 10, 2017 7 PM to 8:30 PM
Fort Yargo State Park – Winder, GA
Step back in time to 1793 and enjoy an old fashioned dinner in historic Fort Yargo. Guests will be greeted by reenactors and learn about the early days of living in North Georgia. Additionally each guest will be served a hot meal prepared in the same manner as they would 224 years ago. $10 plus $5 parking. 770-867-3489.

Veterans Day Celebration
Saturday, Nov 11, 2017 10 AM to 4 PM
F.D. Roosevelt State Park – Pine Mountain, GA
Thanks to all of our veterans! Come spend the day with us. Flag retirement ceremony at 10:00 AM. Bring worn flags to office prior to event. Free appreciation snacks for veterans and their families at 11:00 (must sign up ahead.) Free 1-hr boat rental the entire weekend. Check in at the Park Office on Hwy 190. $5 parking. 706-663-4858.

Campfire Night
Saturday, Nov 11, 2017 6 PM to 8 PM
Florence Marina State Park – Omaha, GA
Join us for our first ever campfire night at Florence Marina! Learn how to build your own campfire from natural materials, compete in groups to build the best fire, and enjoy s’mores and stories by a bonfire. $5 plus $5 parking. 229-838-4706.

Pioneer Harvest Festival

General Coffee State Park – Nicholls, GA
Celebrate the history of farm life in the wiregrass region of south Georgia at the parks annual fall festival. The day will include demonstrations of farm life, an arts and craft show, local entertainers, syrup making and more. $1 plus $5 parking. 912-384-7082.

Pups ‘n’ Trucks Food Truck Festival
Sunday, Nov 12, 2017 11 AM to 3 PM
Skidaway Island State Park – Savannah, GA
Come out for some great eats from local food truck vendors. The afternoon will be all about the dogs, local dog treat vendors, animal rescues, K-9 demonstrations and much more. $5 parking. 912-598-2300.

Annual Sugar Cane Festival
Saturday, Nov 18, 2017 9 AM to 3 PM
George L. Smith State Park – Twin City, GA

6th Annual Tour of Lights Festival
6 PM – 10 PM from Nov 24, 2017 until Dec 26, 2017
Seminole State Park – Donalsonville, GA
This self-guided tour features 25+ festively-lighted sites, as well as, our large Christmas tree of lights reflecting off the waters of Lake Seminole. Free (donations accepted). 229-861-3137.

Christmas Lights at A.H. Stephens
Sunday, Nov 26, 2017 6 PM to 10 PM
A.H. Stephens State Park – Crawfordville, GA
On Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays through Christmas, tour our 10-acre event field (located behind the office) and office area which has been beautifully decorated Christmas light displays by a host of site partners, volunteers and local businesses. Free treats will be available and holiday themed movies will be shown nightly. $5 parking. 706-456-2602.
