Bat Bingo and Campfire
Friday, Sep 6, 2019 7 PM to 8 PMF.D. Roosevelt State Park – Pine Mountain, GA
Play our original, fast-paced bingo game. Win prizes and learn about our fabulous flying mammals at the same time. Great fun for families or adults. Bring a roasting stick and enjoy toasting a marshmallow over a the fire. View bats flying over Lake Deleanor. Meet next to the boathouse in the campground. Grandparents Day Craft

Bark in the Park Dog Hike
Sunday, Sep 8, 2019 4 PM to 5:30 PMSweetwater Creek State Park – Lithia Springs, GA
Bring your four-legged companion and join a Park Ranger on a very scenic and historic hike. Dogs must be leashed at all times. We’ll explore areas of whitewater rapids (up to class IV) and tour the inside of the ruins of the Civil War era New Manchester mill, as seen in the film ” Hunger Games:Mockingjay”. Hike the Gahuti
Wednesday, Sep 11, 2019 10 AM to 4 PMFort Mountain State Park – Chatsworth, GA
The Gahuti Trail is the most challenging trail at Fort Mountain. Join a ranger and hike around 8.5 miles. Expect to see beautiful views, hike up and down the mountain, and pass a waterfall. We will stop to eat lunch and snacks. Please bring plenty of water and food, and wear appropriate hiking gear. Registration is required. Register 8am to 5pm $5 plus $5 parking. 706-422-1932.
Salamander Meander
Saturday, Sep 14, 2019 10 AM to 11 AMF.D. Roosevelt State Park – Pine Mountain, GA
Join the ranger for an investigative stream lab to discover salamanders and other cold-stream inhabitants. We provide dip nets and catch pans. Wear tennis shoes you can get wet. All ages welcome. Stargazing and Constellation Stories
Friday, Sep 20, 2019 8 PM to 9 PMHard Labor Creek State Park – Rutledge, GA
Explore the galaxy with out of this world crafts, cool constellations, and laying out under the stars. Identify key objects in our solar system like planets, large stars, and meteors, or listen to the creation stories of the common constellations. Blankets are encouraged. Finding your Way- Natural Navigation and Orienteering
2 PM – 5 PM from Sep 25, 2019 Etowah Indian Mounds Historic Site – Cartersville, GA
Jr Rangers join the Park Ranger for 2 afternoons to learn about Natural Navigation and how to use Map and Compass for Orienteering. Constellation Kayak Cruise

See a beautiful night sky full of stars above Lake Seminole right from your kayak. This slow paced, peaceful night time paddle is perfect for people new to kayaking or stargazing. We’ll travel 1.5 miles round-trip, stopping along the way to stargaze and discuss the mythology behind the constellation names and how seafarers navigated by using stars. $15 plus $5 parking. 229-861-3137.
