Prepare Now for the Total Solar Eclipse 2017!

It’s been 99 years since the  last total solar eclipse crossed America!

Good news is…for 2 minutes on August 21, certain areas of 14 states will experience complete darkness in the middle of the day because of the total solar eclipse. Witnessing this event is a once in a lifetime chance, so people all over the nation have begun making travel plans and reservations.

Parts of North Georgia are expected to experience complete darkness as the eclipse passes through. Therefore, Georgia State Parks is hosting a Solar Eclipse Festival at Tallulah Gorge State Park in northeast Georgia. Schools and teachers are encouraged to bring their students to the event, and spaces will be provided for all visitors to participate in activities.

The festival will be held August 21, 1p.m. – 3p.m. For more information call 706-754-7981.
