It is time to start planning for State Employee Recognition Week, May 7-13, and State Employee Appreciation Day, May 10th.
This week is a time set-aside to honor the thousands of dedicated individuals who make up the State’s workforce, and make a difference in the well-being of 10 million Georgians every day. State Employee Recognition Day is an excellent opportunity to express appreciation to state employees at a time when their dedication is even more valued and appreciated. Recognition is a powerful motivator, and it contributes to higher employee morale, increases organizational productivity, and aids in recruitment and retention.
Agencies across the state are planning activities to show appreciation to their employees for their contributions to public service and to recognize their achievements in the workplace and in our communities.
Throughout the country, mayors, governors, agency leaders, communities and public service organizations participate in Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW) by issuing proclamations; hosting award ceremonies and special tribute events; and delivering messages about the value of public service.
