Gov. Deal Declares March as Georgia Purchasing Month

Governor Nathan Deal presents a Proclamation declaring March as 2017 Purchasing Month.

March is officially “Purchasing Month” in Georgia. It is a time set-aside to recognize the purchasing and materials management professions who play a significant role in the efficiency and effectiveness of both the public and private sectors by balancing and negotiating time, source and price of goods and services.

Throughout the month, DOAS and professional purchasing associations like the Georgia Chapter of NIGP, Inc. and Government Procurement Association of Georgia (GPAG), will engage in efforts to inform the public about the important role played by the purchasing profession in business, industry, and government.

On April 25 – 27, 2017, DOAS will host the inaugural Georgia Procurement Conference (GPC 2017) and Supplier Expo. GPC 2017, the state’s premier event for public procurement professionals and supplier partners, will provide opportunities to foster business partnerships between state government entities, suppliers and small businesses.
