August is National Immunization Month

August is National Immunization Month. Department of Public Health officials are encouraging adults and children to get vaccinations. Getting immunizations and keeping all records updated is important as vaccines protect against potentially life-threatening diseases such as tetanus, shingles, and measles.

More specifically, parents of college students should make sure their child is up-to-date with immunizations to protect them against mumps; they should also be current on other appropriate vaccines.
