Sunset Boat Cruise

Crooked River State Park – St. Marys, GA
Enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along Crooked River while watching the sunset, taking breathtaking photographs, and viewing various coastal birds and marine life. Binoculars provided. Space limited. Ages 6 and older. Preregistration required by 6:00 PM on Thursday. $30 plus $5 parking. 912-882-5256

First Time Camper Program

Hard Labor Creek State Park – Rutledge, GA
Never gone camping or it’s been awhile since your last camping trip? Here is your chance to go camping for a night and see what it is all about. Fun activities, use of camping equipment, 1-night tent camping accommodation, and ranger guidance is provided. $32 for a group of 1-6 people plus $10 program fee per person. Get Fit 1 Hike- Get Outdoors
Friday, Jun 1, 2018 10 AM to 11:30 AM
Fort Mountain State Park – Chatsworth, GA
This beautiful 1.75 mile hike is a great way to add exercise to your routine. The hike will start around the level lake loop, and then cross over to the Big Rock Trail. This trail is moderate, with stairs, small hills, and some uneven areas. We will stop at the cascading waterfall, so be sure to bring a camera! $3 plus $5 parking. 706-422-1932.

Wildlife of Our World

Crooked River State Park – St. Marys, GA
Learn about some of the animals found in Coastal Georgia and get a chance to pet the reptiles that call our Nature Center their home and even have your photograph taken with your favorite critter. $1 plus $5 parking. 912-882-5256.

Namaste in Nature – Yoga
Saturday, Jun 2, 2018 10 AM to 11 AM
Gordonia-Alatamaha State Park – Reidsville, GA
Start your day off with some full body stretches. Join an AmeriCorps Ranger for a Yoga session in nature. This program is not led by a professional yoga instructor, but by a fellow yoga enthusiast!Program meets outside the Park Office. Wildflower Hike-National Trails Day
Saturday, Jun 2, 2018 9 AM to 10 AM
Moccasin Creek State Park – Clarkesville, GA
Through woodlands, across fields and alongside rushing waters, this hour long one mile trail offers our visitors a kaleidoscope of colors and a close range view of mountain flora. A great camera- op too. 706-947-3194.

Master Naturalist
Mondays 9 AM – 4 PM – Jun 4, 2018 until Jul 23, 2018
Smithgall Woods State Park – Helen, GA
This 9-week long course is in partnership with Warnell School of Forestry at UGA. It will cover courses in herpetology, ornithology, mammalogy, ichthyology, entomology, and many more. Increase your knowledge of the natural world and receive certification as a Master Naturalist. $200 plus $5 parking. 706-878-3087.

Home School Wednesday
Wednesdays 10 AM – 3 PM – Jun 6, 2018 until Nov 14, 2018
Roosevelt’s Little White House Historic Site – Warm Springs, GA
Homeschoolers will be offered an educational opportunity to learn about President Roosevelt, Warm Springs, The Great Depression, WWII and more, through a presentation in the Theater. Programs run approx. 1 hour. Class times are 10 am, 1 pm, 3 pm. Pre Registration is required and select from subjects below. $9-$14. 706-655-5870.

Traveling Exhibit: Beyond Rosie – Women in World War II
9 AM – 5 PM from Jun 11, 2018 until Jul 13, 2018
Roosevelt’s Little White House Historic Site – Warm Springs, GA
“Beyond Rosie – Women in World War II” tells the story of how women contributed to the war effort. From the Museum of History and Holocaust Education at Kennesaw State University’s traveling exhibit series. $7-$12. 706-655-5870.
