Fitness Hike
Wednesday, Oct 3, 2018 10 AM to 12 PM
George L. Smith State Park – Twin City, GA
Just need to get some exercise in between busy work weeks? Then come out to George L. Smith State Park and hike with one of our rangers down our 3 mile Deer Run Trail. We will see some nature on the way of course, but the main purpose will be burning those work week calories off. $5 parking. 478-763-2759.

Fall Festival Weekend
Friday, Oct 5, 2018 8 PM to 9:30 PM
Elijah Clark State Park – Lincolnton, GA
Fall Fest kick off begins Friday night with a family friendly movie. Saturday at 10 am archery with scarecrows and pumpkins. Starting at 4 pm Fall Fest activities include a pumpkin patch, mini-golf, hayrides, apple bobbing, bouncy house, ring the scarecrows and more. The weekend will end with bingo Sunday evening. $1 – $5. $5 parking. 706-359-3458.

Fall Fun: Hayrides and More
Saturdays 12 PM – 5 PM – Oct 6, 2018 until Nov 3, 2018
Cloudland Canyon State Park – Rising Fawn, GA
The whole family will enjoy a tractor-drawn hayride through the beautiful fall foliage. Hayride admission includes family fun activities such as games, temporary tattoos, bubbles, and coloring. Snacks and drinks available for purchase. Meet at the disc golf course parking lot. Friends of Cloudland Canyon State Park event. $3 – $6 $5 parking. 706-657-4050.

Bark in The Park & Pet Costume Contest
Saturday, Oct 6, 2018 9 AM to 11 AM
Laura S. Walker State Park – Waycross, GA
Enjoy a hike with your furry companion on the Big Creek Nature Trail. After the hike, your furry friends can enjoy our new dog park located near the office. We will meet across the office from picnic shelter 3 and 4. Dog’s must be on a 6′ leash and have current vaccination tags. $5 parking. 912-287-4900.

Why Do the Leaves Change Color?

Cloudland Canyon State Park – Rising Fawn, GA
Ever wondered why we have fall and what makes it all happen? Learn what makes those vibrant colors come out and how the trees prepare themselves for winter. A short laboratory experiment will be performed by all attendees. This program is for kids and the curious alike. Meet at the Interpretive Center. 3 plus $5 parking. 706-657-4050.

Sunset Boat Cruise
Friday, Oct 19, 2018 5:45 PM to 7:15 PM
Crooked River State Park – St. Marys, GA
Enjoy a leisurely boat cruise along Crooked River while watching the sunset, taking breathtaking photographs, and viewing various coastal birds and marine life. Binoculars provided. Space limited. Ages 6 and older. Preregistration required by 4:30 PM the day before cruise. $30 plus $5 parking. 912-882-5256.

Zombie Archery
Friday, Oct 26, 2018 5 PM to 7 PM
Magnolia Springs State Park – Millen, GA
It seems that 3D zombie targets are hanging out on the archery range. Join a park ranger and help rid the park of these zombies. All equipment is provided, ages 7 and up. Sign up at the Visitor Center before 12pm or give us a call to save your spot. Limited space available, early registration is encouraged. $10 plus $5 parking. 478-982-1660.

Trunk or Treat for Halloween
Wednesday, Oct 31, 2018 5:30 PM to 7 PM
Tallulah Gorge State Park – Tallulah Falls, GA
Bring your decor and candy and join us for our annual Trunk or Treat. Visitors decorate their cars and hand out treats as kids walk from car to car. Activities will be provided for kids while cars are being decorated. Prizes will be awarded for cars and costumes. Please arrive on time so no cars are driving while children are trick-or-treating. $5 parking. 706-754-7981.
