OPB Director MacCartney to Speak at Georgia State University Leadership Training
Teresa MacCartney, chief financial officer for the state of Georgia and director of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget (OPB), will be a guest speaker at the Center for State and Local Finance’s leadership training in August.
The training is part of center’s in-depth public finance program at Georgia State University. All levels of government, including current and aspiring leaders, are welcome to register for the leadership training.
The center’s executive education participants have included chief financial officers, county administrators, city finance directors, and a number of finance staff from various state of Georgia departments, among others.
MacCartney, who began her career at OPB in 2001, is expected to discuss her state government career, her personal leadership style, and meeting the challenges of running a large, multifaceted government organization. Governor Nathan Deal appointed her to her current position in October 2012, but she also has served as OPB’s deputy director.
MacCartney currently serves on the board for a number of organizations, including OneGeorgia Authority, Georgia Higher Education Facilities Authority Board, Georgia Lottery Corporation and Georgia Higher Education Savings Plan.
A Georgia Southern University alumna, MacCartney earned a bachelor’s degree in science and a master’s degree in public administration.
