Introduction to Disc Golf

Cloudland Canyon State Park – Rising Fawn, GA
Learn the rules of the game and the basics of disc golf such as how to throw the disc, how to choose the correct disc, and try a few practice shots. $5 parking. 706-657-4050.

Starry Night & Ice Cold Lemonade

Elijah Clark State Park – Lincolnton, GA
Enjoy a starry night & ice cold lemonade. Meet at the assembly shelter where we will observe stars, planets & nebulae and hear stories about the constellations above us. Star charts & a telescope will be on hand. The Park Naturalist will show you how to use & make your own star wheel to take home. Feel free to bring your telescope or binoculars. $5 parking. 706-359-3458.

Meet the Farm Animals

General Coffee State Park – Nicholls, GA
Give us a helping hand in the morning and feed the animals at the farm, collect eggs, and get to goof off with our donkey’s. We will start by feeding our farm animals (sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, ducks, horse, donkeys, and a mule). Learn about the diet of these different animals and tips on maintaining them. $1 plus $5 parking. 912-384-7082.

Volunteer to Work on the Pine Mountain Trail

F.D. Roosevelt State Park – Pine Mountain, GA
Meet PMT Association leaders at the Park Office Parking Lot on Highway 190. Work day may be cancelled if bad weather. Check the PMT Facebook page. Bring snack/lunch and water, and gloves. Dress for the weather. If a large volunteer group, please contact PMT Association before coming. PMT provides all tools and fun. $5 parking. 706-464-3136.

Unicorn Camera Scavenger Quest

F.D. Roosevelt State Park – Pine Mountain, GA
Assemble a team of 2-4 persons with cameras to capture photographic evidence of the illusive Unicorn. A Unicorn Quest Checklist and Rules will be handed out. Photos will be evaluated, and a winning team will be announced. Meet at the Park Office. Fee for ages ages 4 and up. Summer Finale Movie Night

For the end of summer we’ll be having a movie night. The movie will be family friendly. All ages are welcome. Meet at the open field by the campground. The movie starts at 7:30 PM, so try to get there early for a good seat. $5 parking. 912-287-4900.

Zombie Archery
Friday, Sep 28, 2018 4 PM to 6 PM
Magnolia Springs State Park – Millen, GA
It seems that 3D zombie targets are hanging out on the archery range. Join a park ranger and help rid the park of these zombies. All equipment is provided, ages 7 and up. Sign up at the Visitor Center before 12pm or give us a call to save your spot. Limited space available, early registration is encouraged. $10 plus $5 parking. 478-982-1660.
