Plan Year 2022 Virtual Flexible Benefits Fair

Welcome to the State of Georgia 2021 Flexible Benefits Open Enrollment and Virtual Benefits Fair for Plan Year 2022! Visit the Flexible Benefits vendors here.

Open Enrollment begins October 18, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. ET and ends November 5, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. ET for active eligible employees and COBRA beneficiaries. Open Enrollment is a time to review, enroll and/or make changes to your Flexible Benefits plan options, including dental, vision and life insurance coverage. To ensure the safety of employees during the pandemic, the annual Benefits Fair will again be brought to you virtually – with vendor booths highlighting the Flexible Benefits plan options. Think about that – an online fair providing access to all of your Flexible Benefits plan options and changes for Plan Year 2022 via your computer and/or other mobile device at your home office or on the go! Need to change your tier from Single or Family or change from one plan option to another? This is your opportunity to make those and other changes. In fact, as an active eligible employee, you can do the following during Open Enrollment:

  • Enroll in Flexible Benefits Program plan option(s)
  • Change your plan options or vendor
  • Enroll eligible dependents
  • Drop covered dependents
  • Decrease/increase coverage tier
  • Drop plan option(s) and/or discontinue your Flexible Benefits coverage

What’s new and/or changing for Plan Year 2022?

Effective January 1, 2022:

  • Delta Dental’s waiting periods will be removed from major and orthodontia services
  • Cigna’s DHMO rates will increase by 1%, with additional dental services added in the following categories:
    • Diagnostic/preventive
    • Crowns and bridges
    • Endodontics
    • Periodontics
    • Oral surgery
    • Orthodontics
    • General anesthesia

  • MetLife’s One-Up Campaign is back! (Employee Life only)
  • New Hire enrollment window will change to 31 days instead of 30 days
  • Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) notification deadline will change to 31 days instead of 30 days
  • The effective date of the QLE will change to the first of the month following the event instead of the first of the month following the notification.
  • UNUM’s Long-Term Care premiums will increase by 12% on plan options with Compound Inflation
  • GaBreeze’s new convenient Mobile app, Alight Mobile, is now available and can be used during Open Enrollment! To download the app to your phone:
    • Open the iOS of Android app store.
    • Search for “Alight Mobile” and download. It is Free!
    • Open the newly downloaded app. You will be asked to allow push notifications.
    • In the “Your Employer” search, type “State of Georgia.” Select State of Georgia.
    • Accept the policies.
    • You can now log in, using the same GaBreeze credentials.

Actions Needed
Your 2021 Flexible Benefits plan options will roll over to the 2022 Plan Year if you do not access GaBreeze during the Open Enrollment period. However, your 2021 Health Care and Dependent Care Flexible Spending accounts will not roll over to Plan Year 2022. If you want to continue your FSA(s) contributions for the 2022 Plan Year, you must re-enroll during this Open Enrollment period.

Enrolling is easy!

  • Confirm your access to the enrollment portal, GaBreeze, in advance of the Open Enrollment start date.
  • Review the Flexible Benefits Program’s plan options.
  • Access the enrollment portal, www.GaBreeze.ga.gov or call GaBreeze Benefits Center at 1-877-342-7339 to enroll in your Flexible Benefits.

Note: If you need assistance with your enrollment, contact the GaBreeze Benefits Center no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on November 5, 2021.

Important Information for Retirees – Retiree Option Change Period (ROCP): During this time, you can only make changes or cancel your dental coverage. There is no opportunity for enrollment in a dental plan or any other Flexible Benefits Plan option. ROCP begins on October 18, 2021 at 12:00 a.m. ET and ends on November 5, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. ET.

During ROCP, you may:

  • Change your dental plan option and/or dental vendor
  • Drop a covered dependent
  • Cancel your dental coverage

There are changes to the Dental plan options and rates for the Plan Year 2022. The available vendors, plan options, and changes are:

  • Delta Dental
    • Select PPO
    • Select Plus PPO
  • Cigna Dental
    • DHMO

  • Always keep your USPS address and/or email address updated.
  • If you need assistance making changes during the ROCP, contact the GaBreeze Benefits Center no later than 5:00 p.m. ET on November 5, 2021.

Alert! If you drop a covered dependent or cancel your coverage, you will not be able to re-enroll unless you return to work in a position that offers Flexible Benefits coverage.
