Protect Georgia’s Youth this Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. Children are the future, and it is important that we ensure their safety.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention provides the following definitions for child maltreatment:

  • Child abuse: Words or overt actions that cause harm, potential harm, or threat of harm
  • Child neglect: Failure to provide needs or to protect from harm or potential harm

The initiative of Child Abuse Prevention Month is to stop abuse before it happens. With efforts from the entire community, we can help Georgia’s youth reach their full potential!
