Remember Georgia Grown for everyone on your gift list

When people think “Georgia Grown,” images of beautiful, fresh fruits and vegetables grown straight from our Georgia soil might be the first thing that comes to mind. But this holiday season, Georgia Grown members have a lot more to offer, with unique items crafted and produced around the state so you’re bound to find something for everyone on your gift list.

This season, remember small businesses – especially our producers and agribusinesses – and support local economies while finding gifts that are exclusive to Georgia.

“Many of the state’s top commodities, including livestock, dairy and Georgia’s green industry are all represented on this list – plus a huge array of our cottage food producers. Their products are perfect gift items because when you support them in your holiday shopping, you are supporting your local community and Georgia’s economy,” said Agriculture Commissioner Gary W. Black.

The Georgia Grown Holiday Gift Guide for 2012 is a laundry list of rare specialty items, with producers offering everything from freshly made wreaths and garland for decoration to freshly baked pies, breads and other pastry items; sauces and salsas to jams, jellies and honeys to pecans, peanut brittle and candy products. There are wines, cheeses, olive oil and grits; Georgia pasture raised poultry, rabbit, beef, lamb, goat and pork products; ciders and hot cocoa mixes; alpaca yarns and homespun clothing; aprons, candles, soaps, dish towels and much more!

Many items are available for shipping anywhere in the U.S. To view the complete list of Georgia Grown specialty items available this holiday season, please visit georgiagrown.com/gift-guide.
