Team Georgia Careers is live!

The State of Georgia has launched Team Georgia Careers, a fully automated, robust and user-friendly recruiting and onboarding website, which is powered by Taleo. This new website will improve job search, application and hiring processes across the state.

Team Georgia Careers is an important statewide talent management solution initiative for recruiting talented employees and has many benefits for both job seekers and recruiters. On the site, you will find Career News with featured jobs and job fairs, applicant resources, information on state benefits and work-life options, and a current listing of job openings and employment opportunities.

Current and prospective employees will find it easier to search open positions, upload resumes and required materials, track their application throughout the recruiting and hiring process, and submit employment forms after accepting a job offer. Improved automation of current recruiting and onboarding processes means more speed to find, interview and hire job candidates. Staff tasked with filling positions will find it easier to post jobs, search applicant materials and request and receive necessary approvals from their HR department throughout the hiring process.

To transition to the new site, all users will be required to create new online profiles in order to apply to jobs that are advertised on the site. Existing applicant information that was on the old careers.ga.gov will not be carried over into the new Team Georgia Careers site. Effective Friday, February 13, careers.ga.gov automatically redirects to the new Team Georgia Careers website.

All current state employees will automatically be granted access to a new careers section exclusively for current state employees; using your TeamWorks (PeopleSoft) Employee ID as the username. The initial password will be the last four digits of your Social Security, followed by the first four letters of your last name, in upper case. For example, the initial password for a state employee named Chris Smith with a Social Security number of 123-45-6789, will be 6789SMIT. Once you access your account, you will then follow the steps needed to create your profile, upload your résumé, and begin searching and applying for jobs.

The Team Georgia Careers Help Desk at HRA@doas.ga.gov or 404-656-2705, or Toll Free at (877) 318-2772, will be available to assist you in setting-up your user profile and to answer any questions you may have about the website.

Welcome to Team Georgia Careers!

The State of Georgia has launched Team Georgia Careers, a fully automated, robust and user-friendly recruiting and onboarding careers website, powered by Taleo. Team Georgia Careers is an important statewide talent management solution for recruiting and retaining talented employees who will handle the business of State government, and offers many benefits for both job seekers and State recruiters.

Current and prospective employees will find it easier to search open positions, upload resumes and required materials, track their application throughout the recruiting and hiring process, and submit employment forms after accepting a job offer. Improved automation of current recruiting and onboarding processes means employers can quickly find, interview and hire job candidates.

In addition to this careers website, Georgia’s state government, or “Team Georgia,” offers traditional and unique career and development opportunities to applicants. Professional development, specialized training, coaching and mentoring opportunities, succession planning, tuition assistance for specialized jobs within specific organizations, and cross-agency team stretch assignments are all career-enhancement programs offered by the State.

Unique jobs are available throughout the state that are only available to State employees. For example, individuals who live in Georgia and aspire to have a career in forensic science can only gain that experience with the State Crime Lab. Other unique positions include park rangers with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, special agents with the Georgia Bureau of Investigations, environmental health and food service inspectors with the Georgia Department of Public Health, child protective services caseworkers with Georgia’s Division of Family and Children Services, pesticide control inspectors for the State Agriculture Laboratory, environmental protection agents with the Environmental Protection Division and various positions with the State Elections Commission, and many others.

We are excited about this initiative and the ability to improve employment services offered the State of Georgia!!
