On these dates the Georgia State Capitol and state office buildings will be closed.

 

2024

New Year’s Day will be observed on Monday, January 1.

Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday will be observed on Monday, January 15.

A state holiday will be observed on Friday, March 29.

Memorial Day will be observed on Monday, May 27.

Juneteenth will be observed on Wednesday, June 19.

Independence Day will be observed on Thursday, July 4.

Labor Day will be observed on Monday, September 2.

Columbus Day will be observed on Monday, October 14.

Veterans Day will be observed on Monday, November 11.

Thanksgiving Day will be observed on Thursday, November 28.

A state holiday will be observed on Friday, November 29.

Washington’s Birthday will be observed on Tuesday, December 24.

Christmas Day will be observed on Wednesday, December 25.

 

2025

New Year’s Day will be observed on Wednesday, January 1.

Martin Luther King, Jr.’s Birthday will be observed on Monday, January 20.

A state holiday will be observed on Friday, April 18.

Memorial Day will be observed on Monday, May 26.

Juneteenth will be observed on Thursday, June 19.

Independence Day will be observed on Friday, July 4.

Labor Day will be observed on Monday, September 1.

Columbus Day will be observed on Monday, October 13.

Veterans Day will be observed on Tuesday, November 11.

Thanksgiving Day will be observed on Thursday, November 27.

A state holiday will be observed on Friday, November 28.

Christmas Day will be observed on Thursday, December 25.

Washington’s Birthday will be observed on Friday, December 26

 

In accordance with state law, each year Georgia's governor announces which holidays will be observed by the state government. The official memos issued by Governor Brian P. Kemp announcing these dates are available for both 2024 and 2025.
